Clinical Casework Supervision

I have ten years’ experience of clinically supervising counsellors either individually or in a group who deliver one to one work with adults and/or young people. You might be fully trained or a trainee on diploma/degree courses who need to feel fully supported and not judged as you feel your way through a difficult pathway of understanding your work with clients and your self-awareness/self-development.
I also deliver supervision to non-counselling supervisees who are managing casework and need independent support.
I am a member of the BACP and work to their code of ethics. I am a BACP Accredited Supervisor and have completed a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision.
Within supervision, Inskipp & Proctor’s and Hawkins & Shohet's models theoretically inform my work. My chosen theoretical approach in my Diploma in Counselling training, completed in 2000, is Person Centred, Existential/Phenomenological, Humanistic, although I have extensive knowledge of other theoretical approaches, e.g. psychodynamic, cognitive, which were included in my delivery as a lecturer in counselling courses within further education.
My working style is collegial and respectful of your experiences with your clients, your stage of development, your needs, organisational frames of reference if appropriate, and providing an environment where you feel safe to explore ethical, professional and personal concerns.
