Counselling Adults and Young People

If you are reading this, then it is likely that you are thinking about looking for someone to talk to, perhaps in a different way to what is possible with your partner, relatives or friends. Counselling can offer you that different way.

There are times in our lives when we can feel overwhelmed by a current or past situation, maybe isolated in our thoughts and feelings, maybe presenting difficult behaviour or receiving it from others, maybe repeating patterns of behaviour that result in the same negative consequence, maybe lost, helpless, don’t know what to do or where to turn.

I can offer you a confidential and non-judgmental space to explore what is going on for you, the meaning of what is happening, finding purpose in the present and for the future, and a place where you can be you. I have 15 years’ experience in counselling adults and young people, understanding the difficulties that clients face, the need to trust someone enough to maybe disclose thoughts and feelings that they may never have told anyone and maybe the need to understand how past events can influence present situations.

I can offer help and support in all emotional issues, some of which are listed below:

Family/sibling/partner/peer relationships, separation, loss and bereavement, depression, anxiety, anger, self harm, addiction, school issues, abuse, domestic violence, eating disorders, panic attacks, obsessive behaviour, stress, trauma and work related issues.

Counselling Young People

I have extensive experience in counselling young people. They are often trapped and powerless in family and peer relationships, maybe displaying angry behaviour covering distress and maybe loss, maybe self harm as a release of inward feelings, or loss of position within the family, or the secrecy of abuse, or bullying and/or being bullied, or school pressures or sometimes depression leaving them helpless. By providing a confidential, non-judgemental and trusting space, I can help them have an understanding of the difficult situations in which they find themselves, a better understanding of more positive expression and communication, thus giving them with an impartial view a clearer pathway in their development into adulthood.
