Staff & Management Supervision
With several years’ experience of supervising staff groups within police departments and special needs’ residential homes, I can provide professional supervision support for your staff so that they can proactively examine their client practice concerns in order to help clients progress and maintain high service standards for service-users. I provide an independent view of the dynamics, language and understanding of their work, enabling the staff to feel empowered to move forward in their work with clients and service-users.
For example, some service-users with special needs can provoke reactions in staff who are trying to understanding their behaviour. Together, we can examine how an incident might have been created, understand how it may have developed further, and consider the consequences within the relationships. I can also bring inconsistencies and working boundaries to the attention of staff, thereby helping them manage their service provision professionally. I can mirror their responses to service-users, provide an awareness of attachments, develop peer support and create a happy working environment. Most of all, the support that staff can receive from me will enable them to provide enhanced support to their service-users, whilst maintaining high practice standards.
I can also contribute to your staff’s Continuing Professional Development, by providing a theoretical, yet practical frame of knowledge and directing them towards further support and training sources.
